REFLECTION
Experience
The very first day I start here, I don't know anything about how to use Adobe clouds app like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc. I have watched other designers use these tools but I don't really pay attention to those things back then. Now I start everything from the basics, and till now, I still have a hard time getting along with these tools. some of it is to memorize the shortcut, look for the filter, etc.
What is the hardest part is probably the time when I used to do almost everything on the last day. Fortunately, now I at least will take some time to at least review the things I should do. Even though it is hard to change this habit. I slowly was able to understand how these tools work. Well, sometimes I would be too curious and click here and there and end up with the app lagging or can't do anything like what I did to After Effects, fortunately, it was solved just by re-install it.
Observation
I often do things a bit later than the others because I want to see how they do it. It was kinda nerve-wracking to experience my first semester in college and not knowing how to start even when there is a module that helps directing me. Even when I have already made a design of my own I still look for other resources or at other people's designs, and with Mr. Vinod speaking about those designs, I know what kind of things I should avoid and remember.
I can do some observation but not until the details or the meaning, because I am not too confident in my own judgment especially when I have a bad sense of making things work together. So I just observe and take note of the opinions and tried to improve my skills. So, even if my results were bad at least I gain something from it.
Findings
After I went through all of the things I have encountered, I start to change, I gain an understanding and know the importance of each part in a design or composition. For example, at first, I think that Typography is just like making a font to match the design. But after doing this class, I finally know how hard it is to make a type. Mine was horrible, I thought it would look good but when I tried, it was horrible when I used it to type. What is more, is that the type I choose doesn't match with the poster. Now I know I have a horrible sense of choosing a typeface.
In the end, I know that I have a lot of drawbacks but I think it is better than when I first start off as nothing. This class and module have given me a lot of benefits, even when the process is not smooth there is a result.
