Project 1 final

Continuing from Project 1, we will be expanding our last project idea into something more. It can be a game, webtoon, animation, etc. What I will be doing for this project is a webtoon story. The reason why I chose a webtoon story is that the Lantern Festival is the day when people have a new start after letting go of their past, so I want to make a story where people can enjoy and understand the meaning of the day. From grieving to reconciliation and unity.
Story Building
Draft 1
Draft 2/Final
At first, I struggled with creating the story, making an interesting story was hard since getting the concept into and still trying to make it interesting was challenging. My first draft was full of blanks, and when I let my friends read it they were confused as to how exactly the story goes. I got some tips from my friends and lecturer and created a 2nd draft which is better. My lecturer told me that the story is okay but I should shorten it and include the festival food as well.
I am also not sure how I can shorten the story but she was right because it was too long and we don't have many weeks left.

- Make the story shorter
REFLECTION
During the period of this project, I felt the most depressed because I was unable to finish the webtoon before the deadline. So much stuff happens despite me already trying to work on this in my spare time. One of the things that I noticed delayed me was my own habit of erasing and repeating. I kept changing the whole scene and scenario of this story, trying to not deviate too much from the original idea. But at the end I realized it made the story look too rushed to the finish line, giving no time for a reader to capture the emotions that I am trying to relay.
There will be ups and downs, but what I like when doing this is when I share my story and take their opinions to improve it. Not only did the way I try storytelling using words improve, but I also got some inspiration for how the scene will go. I also changed the food scene in the first draft of the story for more connections of the MC with the festival food.
At the end of this project, I directly experienced the frustrations of the amount of time to make just 1 chapter of Webtoon. planning the rough draft of the character movement was a challenge, and then there came lineart and refining as well as dialogue input, I haven't touched the colouring part yet since I haven't finished with line art. If perhaps I don't have anything else in my schedule then I might complete at least 1 chapter, but I have some urgent problems to resolve in the weeks of this project.
