LECTURE

Week 1

22/04 (Monday)

Today we met our lecturer Mr. Asrizal, and read what we are going to do and what the outcome of the task we need to achieve.

Besides that, our lecturer also shared other things that we need to pay attention to as well, especially what comes after graduating from school. 

CV requirements:

1. The latest qualification must be on top of the page (e.g. last highest education/title).
2. Education degree.
3. Industrial experiences.
4. Skills.
5. Interest/Passion.
6. Details, extra information, or added bonus to the CV.

Note: all of the above must be indicated by timeline & position/title. Additionally, all business cards must kept in standard size.

The next Discussion is about our Final Year Exhibition (FYE) showcase:

• 22 people are compulsory to join the showcase.
• The showcase will be held around weeks 15 or 16.
• The event will be held for 3 days
• Day-1, launch day
• Day-2&3, normal showcase (Weekend) 
• We will be using an external venue.

• Management/Admin Team (Team Zero)
• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Design Team (1st Priority)
• Media Team (2nd Priority)
• Marketing Team (3rd Priority)
• Logistic Team (4th Priority)

After hearing others' opinions about the design team, I decided to join the marketing team instead. The reason why is that I have too many opinions in my head but never really spoke out much about them and I often reject ideas that I have slight doubts about, but what I didn't expect was for all the admin team to be in marketing as well, which starting to pressure me because I was the only ordinary member in the team.

Next Week: The marketing team needs to present proposal planning.

Week 2

This week the design team and the marketing team will be presenting their ideas and proposal for future Final Year showcase.

Today we also had a visit from 2 alumni of Taylor's discussing about burnout, in this session we also did a little activity where we looked if we had experienced the stuff in the list given by the seniors.

Week 3

06/05 (Monday)

Today we had a class discussion about the final design and theme for our logo, there were a few difficulties as the vote kept being equal, but thankfully the matter has ended and we are moving on to fundraising and social media discussions.

Week 14

22/07 (Monday)

Today the groups are updating the latest progress of their work. For the design team, they have created 6 variations of a life-size stand design and a booklet design. All the life-size designs were amazing, a few stood out to me and I can see how people will take a photo with to stand designs. For the Booklet design, it had a map inside to show the guests the location of the showcase but there were some parts that didn't seem appealing and I found a bit hard to look at and read unless I focused on what those were. Overall, it's mainly color mix and contrast that needs to be revised in my opinion.

Then followed with the media team, showed us 3 variations of design for a mirror photobooth for the showcase.

For my portfolio, I want to focus on what I want to be and showcase my skills involved in that area.

Resume/CV

Before starting my CV design, I first list out all the descriptions of my experience I want to show in my resume. Using my previous resume as a template I make and list out my skills and experiences.

Then I start planning the theme and draft a design for my CV.

Name Card

For my business card, I decided to make it have the strongest point of my skill which is my illustration skill and character design. Then I start to think of what I want to show myself as in my name card, and what I want them to see and think first when they see it.

For this task, we are required to journal our design development progress using Google Docs to keep updates on a weekly basis.

REFLECTION

Within this period of learning, I learn to participate and learn to work together with the team to achieve our objective of this semester. There are multiple times where I doubt myself and what I can do for the team, as well as stressing myself with multiple stuffs and don't know how to break them down. The most impactful behavior was procrastination, which not only made me suffer but also did not help me achieve or progress in anything.

In the end, I somehow managed to contribute and help my teammates even though it might not have had a big impact, but it gave me a bit of motivation to finish my given task and focus some of the other piled tasks I had.
