Lecture 1: Introduction to Digital Photography & Imaging
For the first week of the class, we were briefed about the modules and assignments as well as the platform that we are going to use. We then discussed why we learn digital photography and imaging.
Exercise/Task 1:
1. Practice our skill in Bezier Game
For our first assignment, we were tasked to completed a game called Bezier. In this game, we slowly learn how to use the pen tool to make lines and curves. each stage is scored by nodes that are unused and then these unused nodes will accumulate in the end as a total score.
At the beginning of the game, it will give you tutorials or steps on how the game works. The instructions were very simple and easy to understand.
After you finished the tutorials, it will lead you to the first stages of the game and after each stage, you passed, the difficulty of the shape will rise and finally, at the final stage, it will show the accumulated nodes you had spared during the game.
Here is some example of shapes I have done with my score at the very bottom.
2. Creating our E-Portfolio
In this task, we will be creating our own E-Portfolio, where it would be the blog where we put all of our results and progress each week after or before class. The blog will contain our progress from the beginning of the week until the end.
3. List of favorite Designs
For our last task, we are instructed to create a Pinterest and Behance account. After that, we will be needed to list at least 3 of our favorite designs and share the reason why would like these designs.
When it comes to designs people had many creative ways that could always make the design look impressive and attractive.
Below are the three graphic designs that I like:
I like how the creator uses the thick lines and how simple the coloring is, and the poster easily gave the impression the creator wanted. Just like the name it represents the modern women in shanghai.
We Know How To do It
The reason I like this is that how simple it looks, how the shape and color make the vague impression of the movement inside the picture, and how the contrast color works well with each other.
I like how it outlines the shape of the image and how it is colored inside especially the lines, and how miniature it is making it look cute.
