LECTURE
Week 1
In this module, we will be making an game art derived from an existing IP or create our own game. We are allowed to use AI generator as reference, and in this module we will also learn about how a game works.
Week 2
This week the lecturer explain on how to make or build a world game settings. The first thing needed to do is to identify the game, the level (map), and difficulty of the challenge.

After Having an idea of what art direction for the world, the next step is to create a character. The character making will include skill, archetype, and class. Another thing that need to be focus on is the UI/UX of the game.

Week 4
By now we should have our game that we want to propose and have the list of the theme, era and so forth. What the game is about, pallete, what kind of world it is and it’s platform.
Once we have extracted this, we then need to continue collecting reference, and we need to have sketches of it (Maybe a rough drawing of character, environment). Sketch is to help to identify your style and compare it with your world creation. The important part is that if you not making a proposal without steps, pretty much you are just showing images without details or sense of direction.
We can start making our own character design and it is best to make it with the 3/4 angle instead of a T-pose or face straight forward to show off the character personality.
Week 5
In this week, our lecturer gave us a tutorial on using Unreal engine and Unity. Unfortunately not everyone can use unreal due to the heaviness, so we opt to use Unity. Our lecturer showed us how we can add objects into unity, add colour, and add lighting. Then we explore around unity by ourself.

The reason why I choose this game is because I already had an interest this game, watching the players playing through the game, I was also amaze with the details and gameplay of the game.

FEEDBACK
- Find reference on monster designs
- Correct the monster anatomy, add scales or edges
REFLECTION
Making an art derived from an existing IP make me think of all kinds of story and how it will unfold. But executing it wasn't easy. While making the main character it wasn't hard to create the base because this character had a story, but making the monster was unexpectectly hard. Maybe because I didn't put a lot of though when making the monster sketch, soo I found useful to go and take a look at other monster created and shared in pinterest.
